We Are Memory Catchers – The Happiness Collection Free Download
Presets for Lightroom and ACR that make editing quick, easy, & joyful.
Tried & tested on REAL LIFE.
I mean, just TRY to get a bad result applying ANY PRESET EVER to a well exposed photograph made with a $3K lens in the jaw dropping Yosemite, or Yellowstone, or anywhere in the PNW.
ANY preset’s gonna look good when you’re shooting wide open at a linen-clad family on a mountain top at sunset, or a gorgeous couple with impeccable don’t-care messy hair in an architectural masterpiece of a kitchen.
This is where the Memory Catcher presets are different.
They were born off the back of photos made to document my very regular, very real life.
These presets cut their teeth on deep shadows, low light, the stark sunshine of mid-morning excursions, and kids who dress themselves.
I wanted to make photographs that were meaningful AND artful, all in my very normal kitchen, and none of the presets out there were helping.
I was a mum with little kids – I couldn’t choose to only shoot in converted kombis, or quaint cottage gardens. All I had was our regular suburban backyard, and bedrooms you wont see pinned on Pinterest.
Even so, my goal was an edit that could hold its own and stop a scroll, that wouldn’t have dated before I’d had a chance to hang it on the wall, and that would LOOK and FEEL like life looked and felt, when we’d eventually look back.
I wanted all that, and I wanted to be able to do it quickly, easily, and with the joy of making baked in.
Wherever beautiful ordinary life was happening, that’s where I made photographs, and as a result the Memory Catcher presets can handle it all.
They’re for beautiful ordinary photos of beautiful ordinary people doing beautiful ordinary things – not JUST flawlessly styled families and epic scenery.*
