The software automatically transfers the colour scheme from a reference to a target image, or applies the same profile to all of the images in a layered document.
New in MagicTints 3.0: guided colour correction of parts of a target image
MagicTints 3.0 makes it possible to control the colour correction process more precisely, with users now able to select areas of similar colour on the target image to which to apply a palette colour.
It is also now possible to specify the strength of a LUT when exporting files for use in other software.
Workflow improvements include a “long due” option to canel a colour correction in progress, plus the option to edit existing colour palettes, and to rename refernce images from inside MagicTints.
Photoshop: match the colour scheme of one layer to another
The Photoshop plugin also gets one of the neatest features of the new version: the option to use layers within a document, including hidden layers, as colour reference sources.
In the video above, you can see the workflow in use to automatically colour-match an element being composited into an image to its new background.
MagicTints 3.0 also introduces support for layered Photoshop PSD files as reference images.
The software now supports “all modern image formats on all platforms”, including JPEG, WEBP, PGA, TIFF, PNG and BMP raster images and SVG vector images.
Standalone edition: support for batch processing
There are also a couple of nice changes unique to the standalone edition, including the option to perform a colour match simply by dragging and dropping an image from the reference palette onto the target image.
The standalone edition also now supports batch processing, matching sets of images to a colour reference.
For Mac users, both the macOS edition and the plugins now support Apple Silicon processors natively.

MagicTints 3.0 is available now for Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign CC 2014+ on Windows and macOS, and as a standalone edition for Windows 8+ and Mac OS X 10.8+.
