Expressive Modern String Textures

String Contours 2 expands the concept of modern string performance with a selection of exceptional playing techniques, previously heard mainly in high-end film scores.

The library offers fluidly playable, highly detailed patches such as Polybend LegatoTemposynced Bends, and Slow Detaché. These are not static one-shot samples, but fully adaptable tools for creating vibrant and original string arrangements.

  • Perform expressive phrases with full freedom. Dynamics and vibrato respond naturally without complex controller programming.
  • Transparent, non-layered recordings capture the true character of real ensembles. A chord sounds like multiple players performing together, not like stacked samples.
  • Each articulation automatically adapts to the project tempo and time signature within your sequencer.

Temposynced Bends and Polybend Legato: An innovative system enables realistic bow movements and portamento lines that perfectly sync to tempo. Polyphonically played legatos create smooth, contrapuntal motion without artificial pitch bending.

Temposynced Slow Detaché: Six rhythmic variations in two expressive styles, ranging from soft and subtle to broad and powerful. Ideal for flowing patterns at slower tempos around 80 BPM.

Inverted Contours and Espressivos: New bowing styles introduce dramatic dynamic shapes — from fortepiano swells to intense, emotionally charged espressivo phrases.

Authentic Recordings: All performances were recorded with carefully selected musicians to achieve maximum realism in tone, vibrato, and expression. Three microphone positions and a ready-to-use mixed signal provide a transparent, cinematic sound with precise spatial detail.
